Grade 1/2AC Pop Art fun

We were really excited to see some of the Pop art examples on the computer, especially the modern versions of Michael Jackson and Star Wars. The Coca Cola can was very cool.

We drew pictures we had to draw 4 pictures but we couldn’t do them all different they had to be exactly the same. I did little flowers and Amity did turtles and Ella did flowers.

Next we coloured our pictures in except now we had to make them different by using different colours so they didn’t look the same anymore. Then we cut them out. After we had cut them out we stuck them onto the coloured paper we had painted last week.

I really liked drawing and colouring and drawing my Pop Art today – Amity

I liked colouring the pictures – Ella

My favourite part of Pop Art was colouring and drawing – Naomi.

We learnt that Pop Art used the same picture but different and bright colours. It was usually something popular that they drew.

Year of the Horse Canvases 5/6H

IMG_2326In the past weeks the students in 5/6S have been learning how to draw and design their own horse. First we started off by drawing in our books then designing them onto a canvas.  Some of us had never drawn a horse before so we had a go trying our own ideas first.  We could only use black and red and white for the background. In term 4 we will be having an arts extravaganza and all of the drawings would be shown on display. Tegan-  My work was very hard to do because I didn’t know how to draw a horse but in the end I got it.  Annika-  I think all the canvases all together will look really cool because they are all the same colors. In the end everyone had fun and we were excited that we were finished.

5/6C’s Zentangling

Over the past Term 5/6C have been working on a very an interesting art topic called Zentangling.

Students have enjoyed the patterns that they come up with.

Zentangling is when you draw an outline and draw patterns.

You can use an outliner to outline the photo so it becomes clear. As a 5/6 group we have came up with over 75 different patterns. We never thought that we would come up with so many patterns but we have came up with a gizillion patterns each.
