3/4B Early stages of the Dragon Panels

We started working on our panels. We started by drawing on them first, using the design we came up with in our sketch books. We had to try and choose something that was from China or in Chinese. We learnt about lots of things that we could use in Chinese with Mrs Jerram first. It’s really exciting getting to start our panels. We also had to put a border around the edge so they can be sewn together later on. I’m looking forward to finishing my panel and seeing what it looks like when it’s done.

I was outlining and after I had finished outlining I added glitter and I put lots of glitter on the star. Some of it wasn’t sticking so I picked them off because it didn’t look very good and put them back in the tub. I am happy with my panel. When I was painting I accidentally dripped paint on it but I fixed it and scraped it off and painted over it.

Grade 3/4 Dragon Body Project

This week we laid out some of the panels to get an idea of what the final body might look like. It was great to see the students getting really excited about it and even making comments about colour combinations of panels. They’re really looking forward to seeing it all finished.

Here is a short video of photos taken by Crystal during art sessions this week.

Enjoy

1/2 Dragon Body Panels

Today I worked on my panel. I’m doing a pig. I used pink for the body and the face, red for the eyes and some trees in the background. The pig also has brown feet. I did a great job and I was happy with my pig

Today I finished off my panel. It was a horse. It’s got a gold mane and a gold tail. It’s body is brown. I had to paint small areas and some big areas. I went around the body with a fabric texta.

Arts Extravaganza

Well better late than never, but wow the Arts Extravaganza was fantastic. We received so many positive comments from our audience. The Art Show looked amazing, with many thanks to my helpers Jackie and Sally. It was a long day setting it up but it was worth it in the end. Every student had at least one piece of work on display and it was great to see students pointing out their artworks to their families and friends. We even had a visiting artist comment on the quality of the artworks “These artworks could hang in any gallery in the world” fantastic feedback.

If you missed it here are some photos of the Art Show. A big and belated congratulations to all the performers and staff who made our Arts Extravaganza extraordinary. So many talented students 🙂 Well done everyone.
