The year 5/6 students have been working very hard to try their hand at recreating some famous masterpieces inspired by the article Bored Office Workers Re-Create Art Masterpieces.

The students chose an artwork and used basic equipment they already had or could find / create in the art room. The results are amazing. All of the original artworks were photographed from the following books to show the new and old together.

The Impressionist Art Game – O’Reilly (Birdcage Books)

European Masters Stadel Museum 19th -20th century (exhibition book NGV)

Italian Masterpieces from Spain’s Royal Court, Museo Del Prado (NGV / art exhibitions Australia)

Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne & Beyond – Post Impressionism from the Musee D’Orsay – Masterpieces from Paris – NGA exhibition book

Genius and Ambition – The Royal Academy of Arts, London, 1768 – 1918 – Bendigo Gallery Exhibition book

No One Saw – Ordinary things through the eyes of an Artist  – By Bob Raczka (a really fantastic resource every art room should have a copy)

Tell Me a Picture by Quentin Blake

Roy and Matilda the Gallery Mice By Susuan Venn

I think that your recreated masterpieces are amazing. You are all very clever. I can’t pick a favourite one because I like all of them. Keep up the good work! Mrs Jerram 🙂
